Immunization Week

Immunization week is celebrated annually aimed at marking completion of child immunization schedules and educating public about the achievement of such program run on a pan-India basis. Around the world 112 nations participate in WHO’s initiative designed to improve awareness about importance of vaccines.

The Expanded Program on Immunization (EDP) was first launched in India in the year 1978 to control other Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPDs). Under the Immunization Program; vaccines are used to prevent child and pregnant mothers. As per the schedule following vaccines are recommended for a better protected future.
