Maintain the glow with healthy diet

Skin is the mirror of your health. A glowing and flawless skin with no marks, pimples indicates good metabolism and inner health. Dark circles, acne, spots on skin are visible because of the imbalance in your system.  Though, external care of skin is important, internal care gives permanent solution!
 
You can observe that small disturbances in our routine/stress/sleeping hours can impact the skin texture. For instance - during exams under eye dark circles are typical due to inadequate sleep time. Not drinking enough water, shows that the skin loses its supple texture. Subtle changes in our body are monitored by hormones and any change reflects on skin.  
 
A healthy diet is the foundation of a healthy skin. Eating right can change the way your skin looks and feels. Consider the following tips while taking care of your skin and see the difference:
 
Cells require ample amount of proteins and essential amino acids to rejuvenate. Diet must contain required amount of protein to perform its functions. One must include 3-5 servings of proteins along with 2 servings of milk and milk products in daily diet.Vegetarian must focus on protein supplements if required.
 
Fats and oils help in giving glow to the skin. These are useful in maintaining oil and moisture balance. Your diet must contain enough amounts of fats and oils in daily diet. Too much of fat is not good for the skin or too less. Consumption of fried food, junk food, chips etc can lead to pimples. The reason behind is high fat diet which triggers digestive enzyme and acid secretion in stomach. Long term consumption of such diet leads to skin blemishes.
 
Essential fatty acids play major role in anti aging. Walnut, almond, flax seeds, fish, chicken etc provide essential fatty acid.
 
Vitamins like B complex vitamins, vitamin A and vitamin C plays major role in maintaining skin health.  Vitamin C has cleansing and detoxifying activities. One must focus on vitamin C consumption to maintain healthy body. Vitamin A has main role in skin care. Try to include red-orange, green vegetables and fruits in daily diet. These nutrients act as antioxidants which are required to fight increasing oxidative damage to the skin. They also offer protection against exposure to sun light or UV rays.
 
Zinc and Selenium are very important for skin health.  Zinc is helpful in reducing acne
causing enzyme in the body.  It is found in brown rice, Brazil nuts, ginger, pumpkin
seeds, oats etc. Selenium has effective antioxidant activity.
 
Water is essential in skin care to rehydrate cells and flush out toxins. Drink 2-3 liter
water every day and keep your skin hydrated.
 
Along with a balanced diet, exercise helps in glowing skin. Regular physical activity
increases oxygen uptake and opens the skin pores.
